NubAbility Athletics Coach

Ashley Green

“You can achieve anything if you put your mind to it. At NubAbility, I love passing that encouragement onto the kids. It has been an eye opening experience to volunteer my time to such a good program.”

About Ashley

Ashley had a scholarship to play collegiate level volleyball, when a car accident at 17 changed her life. As a result of the accident, all of the ligaments in her right ankle were torn, which led to eleven surgeries over the next eight years to try to correct the damage.

In 2015, Ashley made the tough decision to amputate her leg below the knee. It was a personal choice that helped her regain her active lifestyle, which had been hindered by crutches and continued leg infections during her recovery. Following the procedure, Ashley has had several additional procedures to help with the original amputation.

Ashley’s entire life, she has been a competitive athlete, which is why her accident never hindered her passion for athletics. She started her own non-profit called, “Your Excuse Is Invalid,” which is where she shares her story as a motivational speaker.
