NubAbility Athletics Coach
“Watching a child’s confidence grow from Nub Camp and our coaching is the greatest feeling in the world. I am so proud to watch the next generation of these adaptive athletes grow.”
Limb Difference: Congenital
Type: Missing Left Hand
Former Defensive end, Eddie Delaney, played Division I football at UAlbany. Despite being born without a left hand, the 19-year-old Holtsville, N.Y. native thrived on the gridiron. He garnered Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week honors in only his second career start and co-led the team in pass breakups.
Even some NFL scouts asked about the muscular, 6-foot-6, 250-pound during his senior year, which is when he was elected a team captain — just as he was at Sachem East High — and was the top returning tackler on the defensive line.
When he was six, Delaney was diagnosed with Type I diabetes. The news was especially devastating to his parents, who understood that their son would have yet another hurdle to overcome. Eddie had to give himself two or three insulin shots a day until several years ago when he got hooked up with an insulin pump that includes a tube that was inserted into his leg and is protected on the field by only his thigh pad.
That’s right, Delaney played Division I football with only one hand while carrying an insulin pump on his left leg.

WHY WE ARE DIFFERENT
The NubAbility® Athletics Foundation can match any of our Campers to a Coach with the same limb difference as them. Our goal is to get our kids out of the stands, off the bench and into the game so they can excel confidently in sports and in life. #DontNeed2
Our certified, limb different instructors are able to offer customized, adaptive techniques for each sport that can our campers can continued to use long after camp is over.
