Empowering Dreams

Be the coach you wish you had

We believe in the power of a mentor who looks like you. The difference that comes from a limb-different youth experiencing a sport with a limb-different coach can be game-changing. Our volunteer coaches don’t just help youth athletes with limb loss learn the adaptive techniques needed to successfully compete in mainstream organized sports. Their grit and determination are living proof for limb-different youth that they, too, can overcome obstacles on the playing field and in life. What to Expect

Coaching at NubAbility

NubAbility camps vary in size, from 10 campers at a one-sport specialty camp to over 150 at our national 19-sport, four-day All Sports Camp. With a staffing ratio of 2.5 to 3 children per coach, we ensure each camper has a coach with a similar limb difference.

Each sport has a head coach responsible for the training plan, with additional coaches for different age groups: JV (ages 4-9) and Varsity (ages 10-17). Coaches provide group and one-on-one instruction, assist with equipment, and recommend adaptive devices.

NubAbility covers the lodging, travel and meals for our camp coaches, ensuring you can fully focus on doing what you do best.

Our goal is to prepare children for mainstream sports by building fundamental skills and teaching adaptive techniques. We do not coach wheelchair or parasports.

After camp, coaches remain available by phone, email, or social media for ongoing advice and encouragement, fostering lasting mentoring relationships.
