Winter Power Clinic

Build Different. Build Power.

NubAbility Sports Sanctuary | Du Quoin, Illinois

Strength starts with being willing to try. Join NubAbility for our first Winter Power Clinic, a two-day experience where limb-different athletes will get stronger, build confidence, and become more independent. Hosted at the NubAbility Sports Sanctuary, this clinic brings workouts, mindset training, leadership, and hands-on cooking together in one weekend.

Our limb-different coaches understand what it takes to find your own way. Athletes will learn exercise techniques and adaptations, practice handling challenges, and build skills they can use in their sport and everyday life. Whether your child is new to training or already working toward athletic goals, our coaches will help them take their next step.

The weekend centers on Physical Power, Mental Power, and Nutrition Power, with an optional Christian Spiritual Power session for families who wish to participate. Athletes will have opportunities to ask questions, try new skills, and learn alongside other kids with similar experiences. Our goal is for every athlete to leave with practical skills and the confidence to keep building.

Four Areas of Power

Physical Power

Learn how to train with purpose. Coaches will guide athletes through workouts focused on strength, balance, coordination, and proper exercise technique. Instruction will account for each athlete’s age, experience, and limb difference, helping them find approaches they can continue using at home or in their sport.

Mental Power

Learn how to respond when something gets difficult. Through coach conversations and group activities, athletes will practice setting goals, handling frustration, speaking up, and being a good teammate. Our coaches will share lessons from their own experiences and help campers put those lessons into practice.

Nutrition Power

Build confidence in the kitchen while learning how food supports an active body. Athletes will take part in hands-on food preparation and explore practical ways to prepare meals and snacks. Coaches will help campers work through kitchen tasks and find adaptations that support greater independence.

Spiritual Power — Optional

Families who wish to participate can join a Christian faith session focused on encouragement, purpose, and growing in faith. Participation is entirely optional and does not affect access to any other clinic activities.
