Unlock Opportunity with a NubAbility Camp Scholarship

We want your child at camp! To that end, NubAbility is offering four scholarship programs to make it easier for families to bring their limb-different children to one of our events.

Finding 50 Scholarship

Our first 50 Finding 50 Campers for 2024 have been found! However, thanks to the generosity of the Illinois State Fraternal Order of the Eagles, we have 20 more scholarships to give for All Sports Camp.

FOR: Limb-different children who have never attended a NubAbility camp.

INCLUDES: Coverage of camp registration fees for the limb-different child and one parent.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Children must be between the ages of four and seventeen at the time of camp and have a congenital limb difference, traumatic or medical amputation, frozen limb or highly mobile cerebral palsy. Scholarships are only granted to children who have not previously attended a NubAbility camp. There is no financial need requirement for this scholarship.

APPLICABILITY: Scholarships can be used for All Sports Camp, which will take place July 17-21 in Du Quoin, IL.

LIMITATIONS: We are giving out 20 more scholarships on a first come, first served basis.

TIMELINE: Please allow up to two weeks for application processing.

TikTok 10 Scholarship

FOR: Limb-different children who have never attended a NubAbility camp and first learned about us on TikTok.

INCLUDES: Coverage of camp registration fees for the limb-different child and one parent.

APPLICABILITY: Scholarships can be used for any NubAbility camp that takes place in 2024.

LIMITATIONS: Ten scholarships will be provided this year on a first come, first served basis.

TIMELINE: Please allow up to two weeks for application processing.

Camp Registration Fees Scholarship

FOR: Limb-different children who need assistance with camp registration fees due to financial challenges.

INCLUDES: Coverage of camp registration fees for the limb-different child and one parent.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Children must be between the ages of four and seventeen at the time of camp and have a congenital limb difference, traumatic or medical amputation, frozen limb or highly mobile cerebral palsy. Families must be facing financial challenges that would make attendance at camp impossible without assistance.

APPLICABILITY: Scholarships can be used for any NubAbility camp that takes place in 2024.

LIMITATIONS: Registration Fee Scholarships are always granted upon request. There is no limit to the number of Registration Fee Scholarships a camper may request/use in a year.

TIMELINE: Please allow up to two weeks for application processing.

ADDITIONAL: Registration Fee Scholarship recipients are asked to pay it forward by holding an online or in-person fundraiser for NubAbility after they attend camp. There is no minimum requirement for the amount raised.

Walmart Travel Scholarship

FOR: Limb-different children who are unable to attend camp due to travel and lodging costs.

INCLUDES: Coverage of one hotel room and two airfares (or gas reimbursement) for the limb-different child and one parent. NubAbility books all lodging and travel under this scholarship program.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Children must be between the ages of four and seventeen at the time of camp and have a congenital limb difference, traumatic or medical amputation, frozen limb or highly mobile cerebral palsy. Families must demonstrate significant financial hardship.

APPLICABILITY: Scholarships can be used for any NubAbility camp that takes place in 2024.

LIMITATIONS: Funding is limited for our travel scholarship program. Unfortunately, not all families who complete this scholarship application will receive assistance.

TIMELINE: Please allow up to 30 days for application processing.

ADDITIONAL: Families are encouraged to apply for and use Walmart Travel Scholarships in conjunction with Finding 50 or Camp Registration Fee Scholarships if additional assistance is needed.

You will need to set up an account on Active using a personal email address in order to complete the application form. Please save your account information! You will use it again to register your child for camp.

Although Active uses shopping metaphors such as “add to cart,” there is no fee to apply for a scholarship.
