Rudolph Run FAQ

Please note: The Rudolph Run has a live race and two different virtual events – a competitive 5K and a family fun run. Please see the appropriate section for answers to your questions.

 

Rudolph Run Live Race

WHEN IS THE RUDOLPH RUN? The live 5K and fun run are Saturday, December 18th. Registration is 8:00 am. The race starts at 9:00 am.

WHERE IS THE RACE? The race starts at the grandstand at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds. The course runs through the light displays set up as part of DuQuoin Tourism’s Holiday Lights Fair.

We encourage all of our racers to post their training and race day activities to social media using the hashtag #NubAbilityRudolphRun and tagging NubAbility. Although we won’t all be together in person for this run, we can enjoy a sense of community by sharing our race with each other online.

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE? Register here for the Rudolph Run.

DO I HAVE TO REGISTER IN ADVANCE?. No. You can register for the two live events same day at the Fairgrounds.

HOW MUCH DOES THE 5K COST? The cost is $25/adult and $15/child. All proceeds go towards more events for limb-different children.

HOW MUCH DOES THE FUN RUN COST? The fun run is free.

WHAT WILL I RECEIVE FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE RACE? The first 10 adults to complete the 5k will receive a swag bag from Black Diamond Harley-Davidson. All participants who complete the competitive 5k will receive a NubAbility t-shirt. Fun run participants will receive a certificate of completion.

HOW LONG IS THE RACE? The 5k is five kilometers (3.107 miles). The fun run is a mile,

DO I HAVE TO RUN TO PARTICIPATE? The Virtual 5K is a run only. Our fun run offers additional options to participate, including walking and rolling.

CAN I MAKE A DONATION INSTEAD OF PARTICIPATING? Absolutely. You can donate here (but we’d really like for you to run with us too!).

WHERE DOES MY DONATION GO? NubAbility is a 501(c)3 non-profit that helps limb-different children gain courage and confidence through coaching in mainstream sports.

Rudolph Run Virtual 5k

WHEN IS THE RUDOLPH RUN VIRTUAL 5K? The Virtual 5K is Saturday, December 18th. Results must be submitted by 6:00 pm Central.

WHERE IS THE RACE? Anywhere you like – on the grass, on the sidewalk, on the trail, on the treadmill or on the track! Submit your results by email to see how you stack up against the competition.

We encourage all of our racers to post their training and race day activities to social media using the hashtag #NubAbilityRudolphRun and tagging NubAbility. Although we can’t all be together in person for this run, we can enjoy a sense of community by sharing our race with each other online.

DO I HAVE TO RUN THE ENTIRE FIVE KILOMETERS AT ONE TIME? Yes.

DO I HAVE TO RUN THE RACE ON DECEMBER 18TH? Yes.

HOW DO I SUBMIT MY RESULTS? Capture your 5 kilometer run on an app that shows date, distance and time. Email a screenshot of your completed run stats to info@nubability.org by 6:00 pm Central on December 18th.

Send us your race day picture and we’ll post it to social media.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY SWAG? Please allow two weeks for shipping following the race.

Virtual Family Fun Run

WHEN IS THE RUDOLPH RUN VIRTUAL FAMILY FUN RUN? The Family Fun Run is a one mile run that can be completed any time before end of day December 18th. Results must be submitted by 6:00 pm Central on the 18th.

WHERE IS THE RACE? Anywhere you like – on the grass, on the sidewalk, on the trail, on the treadmill or on the track. 

We encourage all of our participants to post their run to social media using the hashtag #NubAbilityRudolphRun and tagging NubAbility. Although we can’t be together in person for this run, we can enjoy a sense of community by sharing our race with each other online.

HOW DO I PARTICIPATE? Register here for the Rudolph Run.

HOW MUCH DOES THE VIRTUAL FAMILY FUN RUN COST? The fun run is free. However, if you would like to receive recognition for participating, you must register and you must submit your race results.

WHAT WILL I RECEIVE FOR PARTICIPATING IN THE RACE? Participants will receive a certificate of completion.

HOW LONG IS THE RACE? The fun run is one mile.

DO I HAVE TO RUN TO PARTICIPATE? No. You can complete your race using any form of cardio that you like. Run, cycle, swim, roll, walk, or use gym equipment such as a treadmill or an elliptical. 

DO I HAVE TO USE ONLY ONE TYPE OF EXERCISE WHILE COMPETING IN THE FUN RUN? No. You can combine multiple methods to complete your run.

DO I HAVE TO RUN THE RACE ON DECEMBER 18TH? No. You can run your race at any time. However, you must submit your results by December 18th at 6:00 pm Central in order for your race to count.

HOW DO I SUBMIT MY RESULTS? Capture your one mile run on an app that shows distance and time. Email a screenshot of your completed run stats to info@nubability.org by 6:00 pm Central on December 18th.

If you use more than one type of exercise, submit the screenshot for each.
